If there is a significant improvement in sound quality when I do that I will update my review. Overall the sound quality is great and the amount of wire you get with the package is more than enough to give you lots of placement options with your speakers. I also have my computer sound connected through the composite L/R input jacks so although its on 2 channel it still sounds great when I watch shows from websites. I love it.I have had no problems with the main system or the rear wireless speakers but I would suggest that the speaker wire which comes with the system is cheap and I plan to upgrade the wire eventually. I orderd this to finally make use of the 5.1 surround sound on discs and my game systems. I used a digital optical 3 port switch to connect my cable HD-DVR box, PS2 & PS3 systems for sound which all now sound GREAT through the system except when the wife yells at me for shaking walls and rattling her figurines around on the top of her chest of drawers. I also did not realize that it will play a DVD "MP3 Disc" if you have the ability to create them, you can load days of music to multiple DVD discs formatted as a MP3 disc and play them through the system.
Decent sound and really easy to setup.took me about 35 minutes from start to finish.but dont expect to watch crisp 1080p vids.the picture quality is really lacking and I had to incorporate my toshiba 1080p upconverter dvd player into system with another hdmi cable and optic cable and optic splitter to get what I wanted.but for the price I paid Im satisfied with the minimal effort I had to put into it.
it was returned to me again. i sent my machine to samsung on january 23 2009. i tried to restart the dvd but i got an error message that said bad disk. i put in a movie. i turned it back on and 30 minutes later it shut down again. i was watching a movie and the picture froze. The theater sounded great and with the 1080p it looked great.
I sent it back on february 20th to be repaired for the same reason. at least this time it lasted a few weeks. on april 12th i rent it for repairs for the 3rd time. watched for about 20 minutes and the machine shut down. supposedly it was repaired. today it was returned to me. Im on my 2nd movie now and it has not turned off.
it was returned to me and worked great.
But that was all short lived.
I tried a new disk same message.
After watching about 4 movies the same thing happened.
i would have rated this home theater with zero stars but i had to click 1.
but i dont have a warm fuzzy feeling about it.
i purchased a Samsung HT-Z510T/xxa (rear wireless sound) from circuit city on Sept 26 2008.
I tried an audio cd and got an error of no file.
same problem.
For the price it is good. Sound really good on movie night my living room is big too, but for what it is sound's good so i gave it a 4
Therefore, songs don't play in the order they actually appear on the album and if you browse by artist or album you may be hitting the scroll button a lot if the name starts with a "w" or something like that since it's at the bottom of the list. iPod dock and on screen controls for iPod are great to have but.The machine lists things in alphabetical order. So if the iPod navigation was a little better it would have been 5 stars. I like what I got for the price. Set up was easy and the sound is good. Holding down the scroll button does not do a rapid scroll either.
